Under 18s and over 65s need to call 0845 125 3830.

No cover for people aged 75 or older. Boots recommend the British Insurance Brokers Association, tel: 0870 950 1790 (lines open 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri).

Pre-existing medical conditions

Travellers with a pre-existing medical condition will find it harder and more expensive to buy a travel insurance policy from Boots, but it's not impossible if you're under 75.

Terminal illness isn't covered, but if you've had cancer and got the all clear over 5 years' ago, you don't need to declare it.

The same goes for any psychological or psychiatric disorder, including anxiety or depression, if it was over 2 years ago and you don't need medication.

You must declare if anyone is on prescribed medication, has a heart or blood circulatory condition (eg angina, high blood pressure), breathing problems (eg asthma, emphysema) or diabetes.

If anyone's had hospital treatment in the last year, or waiting for tests or results, you need to disclose it.

No cover if you're travelling abroad for medical treatment, or against doctor's advice.

Whether you suffer from heart disease, stroke or epilepsy, if you're prepared to gamble, you can get cover for everything except the specified illness or illnesses.

Boots Travel Clinic

You can get holiday vaccinations and medications from Boots branches with an in-store Travel Clinic.

Sign up for a personalised travel health plan and you can access your vaccination record anywhere in the world, and get advice on holiday health before you go.

The £20 fee is refunded against the cost of vaccinations and/or medicines.
